The King Speech.

The poster to the right, the main thing that stands out to me is academy award winner Colin Firth. This is because he’s a well-known British actor. Colin firth is a popular actor and has starred in Bridget Jones, Mamma Mia and other romantic comedies. His facial expression is quite serious, this tells you that his character role is a serious role. His eyes are looking straight towards you, almost ‘scaring’ you, giving the poster a serious vibe. This phrase ‘God Save The King’ lets us know that he’s in some form of trouble. The expression of ‘God save the king’ is similar to the ‘Keep calm and carry on’ posters. This is symbolic as its telling the king to ‘’carry on’’ which links into the quote on the front ‘God Save The King’. Also the poster symbolic as it links into the film.
By having one of the starring roles on the front of the poster and seeing his facial expressions and body posture gives away information on his character. The poster shows a few on the stars that star in the film, having the two main roles ‘Collin Firth and Geoffrey Rush’ in bigger and bolder writing. The writing ‘God Save The King’ in placed in front of the photo of photo, allowing it to stand out more. The photo is like a background image, as it covers the whole page.

The post on the left is more detailed and there’s more going on in the poster. The Austrialian actor Geoffrey Rush who is the face of the poster stands out amongst all the writing as his body language and facial expressions are quite unusual and he’s looking away from you. Geoffrey Rush stars in Pirates of the Carribean.
The word ‘’Majestic’’ in bold at the top is telling the audience that the film is Entertaining. The line ‘’It’s simply fills you with joy’’ would catch a readers eye as when they’re going to the cinema to watch a film they’re wanting the film to have this effect on you. The bold words on the front on this poster stand out widely as they are the reviews/comments from people who have seen the film. This attracts the public eye because if people are saying the films ‘’Terrific’’ it would make you want to go and watch it.
The one word quotes are bigger and bolder, standing out better from the other two quotes which are longer. There are quotation marks on the words to show they’re quotes (reviews/comments) from people. The photo of
Geoffrey Rush is in colour and covers the whole of the posters.

The colour of the writing contrasts with the whole of the poster, and is also bold and eye catching. ‘The Kings Speech’ is in gold showing it’s about royalty and also that it’s the title of the film. The two main actors have been written above the title of the film, whereas the other starring roles have been placed underneath. The overall colour of the posters are quite simple but bold colours that contrast well together. The words and phrases which have been chosen stimulate interest of the audience and are all positive language. Collin Firth’s image is looking directly at the camera, this shows his important, portraying that he’s the king. Also how ‘God’ and ‘King’ are in much bolder and bigger writing would catch people’s eyes as they are important people. Whereas Geoffrey Rush is looking away from the camera, showing he’s the speech therapist.

This film appeals to a very wide audience, probably more of an older audience as from the trailers it looks like a serious film. The trailer doesn’t give away the storyline, however it shows you what the characters are like. The phrase ‘God Save The King’ tell the audience that he needs help. Throughout the film you watch him get saved from embarrassment from his stammer, which links in with the phrase. He is helped by an ordinary man, who has quite a quirky character role. He helps him conquer his stammer and he shows this by giving a massive speech at the end about the war.

The posters are simple and British, showing the audience it’s a British film. The language used on the poster is upper class, and also shows off the Genre as a historical drama. The posters are easy to read as they’ve chosen contrasting colours, which allow the writing to stand out well.

Hello :)

Im Faye White, I've chosen media because I enjoy editing movies and films. I enjoy photography and editing the photos. Im studying Dance, Drama and Health and Social Care, as well as media.

I'd say my favorite band is One Direction, I enjoy listening to their music and they're good artists. Also because they work well as a band, and i love the fact they write their own music.

I'd say I also like Ed Sheeran, because the fact he can be placed on a stage with a guitar and sing infront of thosands without a band, just himself is amazing, and the music which he performs and makes always has a story to.

My favourtie tv program is 90210, because the cast are your typical stero-typed american people from Beverly Hills and it also has a good story line on each series.

My favourite film would have to be Dear John, as I like both of the main actors in this film; channing tatum and Amanda seyfried.  My favourite director would have to be Marc Webb, as I like all the films he's created. Films like The amazing spider man and 500 days of summer.

The only magazine i'd read would be fashion magazines, or magazines like 'Heat' and 'Now'

I tend to read tumblr blogs and blog recent photos and reblog other things onto my tumblr blog.
